🚀 Getting Started

What is MailNab?

MailNab is an advanced email lead capture tool that automatically detects and collects email addresses typed into any form field on your website — even if the form is never submitted. This helps you recover lost leads, improve conversions, and grow your email list effortlessly.

How It Works

MailNab works by embedding a lightweight JavaScript snippet into your site. This script passively monitors input fields and securely captures valid email addresses as soon as users type them — without interfering with page load times or user experience.

Captured emails are sent securely to your MailNab dashboard, where they are stored with metadata such as the source page URL, form identifier, and timestamp.

🧭 Setting Up Your Account

  1. Sign Up – Go to MailNab Signup and create your free account. No credit card required.
  2. Create a Project – Inside your dashboard, create a project (you can have one per domain or subdomain).
  3. Generate Script – After project creation, you’ll receive a personalized tracking script.
  4. Embed Script – Paste this script on your website (see instructions below).
  5. Start Capturing Emails – MailNab will begin capturing email addresses automatically.

📎 Installing the Script

Where to Place the Script

  • Paste your unique MailNab snippet before the closing tag of every page.
  • The script loads asynchronously and won’t affect performance.

Platform-Specific Instructions

WordPress

  • Option 1: Add code to footer.php (just before )
  • Option 2: Use a plugin like “Insert Headers and Footers” or “Code Snippets”

Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Ghost

  • Go to your platform’s custom code section (usually under Settings > Custom Code or Theme)
  • Paste the MailNab script into the global footer or body

📊 Using Your Dashboard

📥 Viewing Collected Emails

  • Go to the Collected Emails tab in your dashboard

View entries with:

  • Email address
  • Source page (URL)
  • Timestamp
  • Form ID (if applicable)

📤 Exporting Emails

  • Click the Export CSV button to download all captured emails
  • Use this CSV to import into email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Brevo, etc.

📈 Email Capture Analytics

  • See daily/weekly/monthly email stats
  • View which pages generate the most leads
  • Analyze conversion trends to optimize your website

🔐 Privacy, Security & Compliance

GDPR / CCPA Compliance

⚠ MailNab acts only as a data processor. You, the website owner, are responsible for compliance.

To comply with privacy laws, you must:

  • Display a privacy notice on your site
  • Obtain user consent where required
  • Let users opt-out or request deletion of their data

We recommend placing a small note near your form like:
“This website may collect your email address as soon as it is typed. View our [Privacy Policy].”

🛠 Troubleshooting

✅ Script Not Working?

Check the following:

  • The script is embedded across the whole website
  • Your forms use <input type=”email”>
  • No JavaScript errors are blocking execution
  • Your project is active in the MailNab dashboard
